The C Note Art Show seeks to promote, display and sell the artwork of Columbus and Central Ohio artists for a price point affordable to all. Through networking, local support, and avid promotions the C Note will strive to show artists how to process and create art that will reach the viewer while also making the price point profitable for artists and affordable to collectors. This allows the show to occur without added fees to the consumers/collectors and thus making it possible for anyone to buy original local art for a price that won’t break the bank. All of the sales generated at the event will benefit ONLY the artists and no commissions will be taken from their earnings. With this in mind the C Note Art Show seeks to expand on the $50,000 achieved in the 3 previous events and earn much more money that will go directly back into the hands of Columbus’ most creative folks.
With over 300 artists registered and more than 650 individual pieces of artwork on display. The first volume of the event was able to stimulate just over $24,000 in sales and with several local artists selling completely out of their work plus a handful of artists who sold over $1,000 through the event. These sales came despite the paralyzing effects of what has been called the blizzard of 2008. In December 2008 the second edition of the C Note Art Show returned in the beginning phase of the recession ironically without the sight of snow. The effects of this economic situation were more than obvious as many quality works went unsold and most of them under priced to sell. With 400+ artists and close to 900 works on display the event managed to raise just over 14,000 in sales. The Third Edition of C Note showed promising numbers as the country began to move out of a state of recession. Over 200 works sold and brought the event to sales totaling over 50,000 for just 3 events in under a 2 year span. This is viewed as a great success for a grassroots independent event of its nature. The 4th edition seeks to grow the event more and offer artists more opportunities to sell hundred dollar masterpieces as 2010 will feature 2 events.
